ABOUT US

Yana stepped into Tango in her home town Saint Petersburg in 2006. She soon started to get interested in dancing both roles. After a couple of years of teaching in Russia, she co-founded the “Salida queer Tango School” and was part of the team organizing the first ever queer tango festival in Russia in 2014, as well as the following years of 2015 and 2016. Extending her teaching throughout Europe (Barcelona, Paris and Berlin amongst others), she eventually fell in love with Berlin and moved there in 2018.

Victoria discovered her passion for Tango in Berlin where she soon dedicated most of her free time to the dance. In 2017, she quit her job and left head over heels for Buenos Aires, where she spent several months studying Tango in depth with various maestras and maestros. Back in Berlin, Victoria felt the desire to share and develop what she had learned and started to teach tango in several tango schools.

Together Yana and Victoria give classes in Berlin and perform since 2018.

Our priorities are musicality and conscious dancing technique. To us it is very important to feel comfortable and free, yet at the same time safe and connected.

Our dancing is about active conscious following, sensitive and attentive leading, communication, interaction, and dialog within the couple. Based on our own experience, we give our students the tools to learn tango in the best and easiest way. With a clear dance tecnique and applying various tango elements, we use those tools in order to dance connected to the music and to our partner, while having loads of fun in class and on the dancefloor.
